First up is the New Card Kit – Elegant Asters. The flowers and butterfly in this set are fabulous to create with! Here is my card for today! ❀

Elegant Asters

Gina K. Designs:
Stamp Set – Elegant Asters
Dies – Elegant Asters
Card Stock – White Heavy Base and Layering Weight, Black Onyx, Sweet Mango
Premium Dye Ink – Sweet Mango
Amalgam Ink – Jet Black
Adhesive Dot Runner
Connect Glue
Foam Squares

Embossing and Watermark Ink
Fine Detail Embossing Powder – White
Velum and Bling

So while creating and playing with my Alcohol Ink and Gina K. Fancy Foils, I decide I wanted to try using Gina K.’s Amalgam Ink on one of the panels. Well, I inked up my stamp and after I stamped it, I though… it didn’t work. But what I didn’t realize, was that what ever the Amalgam Ink was made of, it reacted to the Alcohol Inks. I was able to do a Ink Lift with Gina K. Amalgam Inks. I was so excited to share it with you! Here is a video I made to share the fun with you all! I do hope you will try it soon! πŸ™‚

Here are two cards I did some ink lifting on!

Up Next is Hugs and Wildflowers Stamp Set and matching Dies! I love creating with this New Set by: Lisa. I wanted it to look like watercolor and a bit whimsical so I did off set on the flowers line art and the solid image.

  1. So many wonderful cards.
Love how the flowers seem to give
blast behind the flowers in the first.
    the wildflowers are gorgeous
    and that butterfly is spectacular.
    thanks for sharing

  2. Great cards!!! Love them all! I see you have the bumblebee scissors in your top picture….. I cannot find them anymore!!! Those are just right for fussy cutting!!!

  3. LOVE your cards, but dang, that discovery you made on using the amalgam ink as an ink lifter is awesome! That would mean I wouldn’t really need to buy the special pad, since I have all of Gina’s inks!!! Makes me wonder if the ink lifter is any better…but least for now I wouldn’t need to get it, if I ever manage to get some alcohol inks (which I’ve been wanting to do so I’m sure I will). LOL AWESOME!!! Thanks for the video!

  4. I had to miss the release party so I didn’t get to see your cards. Gorgeous! Today’s selection is very pretty. Especially the last wildflower card

  5. Wonderful cards! I love that first card! It is so elegant! Thanks for sharing your lifting technique! It is good to know that I can use my amalgam inks for lifting! I love that look!

  6. What a happy accident!!! Looks like it works better than the Alcohol Lift Ink. I am in love with alcohol ink and can’t wait to try your new technique. Love your other cards ,too!

  7. What more can I say, Karen? I LOVE this technique! Stunning backgrounds and what a fun way to get inky!!

  8. Karen – what beautiful cards! The pink and red floral card just made me say, “WOW”. I love everything you do, but this one is gorgeous!

  9. Gorgeous cards. I love the colors and the unique designs, and I really love the Elegant Asters set.

  10. The white aster card with “Hugs” is absolutely breathtaking. Great cards, Karen, I love your work.

  11. I love what you have done with the wildflowers! I am going to totally copy some of your techniques! Thank you for sharing your designs with us all!

  12. I love your cards and who would have guessed that the amalgams really are ink lifters? This really is a fun release.
